All areas of twin cities finally open

RAWALPINDI: All areas in the twin cities finally opened on Monday afternoon as people heaved a sigh of relief, especially in the residential and commercial areas around Nur Khan Airbase.

Routine life resumed as traffic returned to the roads of the garrison city and fresh supplies of goods reached the main commercial areas.

The electric buses plied on their designated routes, however, the metro bus service was still limited to Shaheed-i-Millat stop from Saddar.

“At present, we have skipped Red Zone and the buses were plying from Saddar to Shaheed-i-Millat stop. But if the district administration gave permission, buses will complete their route from Saddar to Pakistan Secretariat,” said Punjab Masstransit Authority Rawalpindi-Islamabad Operation Manager Wajid Saleem.
