Citizens deprived of cash, valuables; three injured in separate firing incident in Pindi

RAWALPINDI: A man was robbed of cash right at the doorstep of his house by two unidentified robbers in Sadiqabad, while another house was ransacked by culprits who took away gold jewellery and a large sum of cash in Satellite Town.

Gul Zaib, a resident of Chirah Road, Sadiqabad, lodged an FIR with the police, stating that he was about to leave his residence with his family for shopping and was sitting in the car outside his house when two unidentified persons wearing masks appeared and held them at gunpoint.

He said the robbers threatened to kill him and snatched Rs100,000 before speeding off from the scene.

Mohsin Ali, a resident of Tench Bhatta, complained to the police that he works as a delivery boy.

He said that while he was on his way to deliver an order near the Biscuit Factory, he was stopped by two motorcyclists.

He said the robbers threatened him and snatched a mobile phone worth Rs50,000 and Rs10,000 in cash before fleeing.

In another incident, a family was robbed of gold jewellery weighing 12 tolas and Rs500,000 after unidentified burglars broke into their house in E-Block, Satellite Town.

Ms Zainab complained to the police that she had gone to visit relatives after locking her house. Upon her return, she found the locks broken and household items scattered in the rooms.

Upon checking, she found that gold jewellery weighing 12 tolas, Rs500,000 and silver jewellery had been stolen by unidentified burglars.

Following the complaint, the police reached the spot and initiated legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, three persons, including a student, were shot and injured by their rivals over a petty issue in the Rawat area on Sunday.

Aamir Mushtaq, a resident of Dhok Aoura, Rawat, complained to the police that he is a student and also works part-time in the evening.

He said that on Friday, he and Abdul Rehman were going on a motorcycle towards Rawat Bazaar to purchase household items when they encountered four persons riding motorcycles and performing one-wheeling.

He further said that their motorcycles almost collided, upon which he objected, leading to an exchange of harsh words. He then left the place and returned home after shopping.

Later in the evening, he said that he, along with Abdul Rehman, Abdullah and Saqib, was sitting near Pulli on Jawa Road when Abdul Rehman received a call from a person named in the complaint, asking about their location.

He said that at about 6pm, that person, along with another one, both armed with pistols, arrived on a motorcycle, accompanied by several unidentified persons.

Upon arrival, they started abusing and threatening them. The prime suspect instigated his accomplices and opened fire at the complainant.

The accused persons continued firing and fled the scene on their motorcycles.

The injured were shifted to hospital by locals for medical treatment. The motive behind the incident was stated to be a minor dispute that had occurred earlier in the day.

The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
