Degrees awarded to 145 graduates at Bahria University convocation
KARACHI: As many as 145 graduates, including doctors, were conferred degrees at the 12th convocation of Bahria University Health Sciences Campus Karachi (BUHSCK) on Saturday.
The graduates were awarded degrees across a range of disciplines including MBBS, BDS, Doctor of Physical Therapy, BS Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology and MPhil programmes.
Certificates of merit and medals were also awarded to position holders in recognition of their outstanding academic performance.
Held in two distinguished sessions, the convocation was attended by eminent figures from academia and leadership.
The first session featured Bahria University Rector retired Vice Admiral Abid Hameed, while the second was honoured by Dow University of Health Sciences Vice Chancellor Professor Nazli Hussain.
Addressing the gathering, the rector congratulated the graduates and paid heartfelt tribute to their parents, whose sacrifices made this milestone possible.
He encouraged the young professionals to uphold integrity, embrace lifelong learning and dedicate themselves to the service of humanity.
In the second session, Prof Nazli Hussain urged graduates to move forward with curiosity and purpose, while remaining grounded in the values instilled by their alma mater.
She also acknowledged the vital role of institutions like Bahria University, supported by the clinical excellence of PNS Shifa, in advancing healthcare education and research in Pakistan.
A defining highlight of the day was the recognition of academic excellence, where outstanding students were awarded gold and silver medals in acknowledgment of their exceptional performance.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of souvenirs to the chief guests by BUHSCK Director General retired Vice Admiral Ather Mukhtar, in the presence of senior Pakistan Navy officials, faculty members and distinguished professionals from the healthcare community.
