South Waziristan residents face internet disruption
SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Residents of Wana, Birmal, Tanai, Azam Warsak and Kalotai have been facing communication challenges for the past two months due to disruption in mobile network signals.
Talking to Dawn, they said that internet services continued to affect their daily life, business activities and education of their children.
They said mobile connectivity and internet services had remained unreliable in several areas.
The residents said that over the last two months, mobile signals had either been very weak or completely unavailable in large parts of the district.
They said that voice calls were affected by poor audio quality, repeated call drops and long delays in establishing connections, making communication difficult.
They said that internet services also suffered prolonged slowdowns.
Internet users said that sending messages, accessing online platforms and conducting digital transactions had become challenging due to low speeds and unstable connectivity.
The locals urged the relevant authorities to take immediate notice of the situation and ensure the provision of reliable mobile and internet services in the district.
Attempts were made to contact officials concerned for their response; however, no response could be obtained.
