LAHORE: Police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a suspect involved in killing a man in Satukatla area two days ago.

Police said Nasir (30) of Niyamat Chowk was found dead in a drain two days ago and a murder case was registered against unidentified persons.

Police said the victim was strangled to death and his body was thrown in the drain which was recovered after a day on April 17.

DIG investigation Syed Zeeshan Raza took notice of the incident and directed Saddar Division SP (investigation) Abdullah Imran Cheema to probe the matter and arrest the suspects involved in the matter.

A team led by Satukatla In-Charge investigation Malik Abuzar conducted a raid and arrested a suspect. Police claimed the suspect confessed that he had beaten the victim with a wooden rod and also strangled him to death with a rope. Police said that the suspect had put the body in a briefcase and carried it on a motorcycle and later threw it in the drain.

Police claimed the victim was killed over a family dispute.

SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed appreciated the police team for solving the blind murder case and also announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates.
