• Three lives lost, 18 injured as vehicles collide on Reko Diq site road
• Six die in firing and road accidents in Nasirabad, Mastung
QUETTA / DERA MURAD JAMALI / KHUZDAR: Nine people were killed and dozens others injured in separate incidents of firing, clashes and road accidents across Balochistan.
According to details, three people, including two Afghan nationals, were killed and 18 others injured in a horrific traffic accident involving three vehicles on the Reko Diq site road, police said on Thursday.
They said the injured included Afghan women and children who were travelling towards the Iranian border, allegedly attempting to cross into Iran through an infrequent illegal route.
Officials said the incident occurred late Wednesday night when three high-speed vehicles collided, resulting in the deaths of three people.
“Five passengers sustained serious injuries and were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for treatment,” police officials said.
Separately, at least three people were killed and 13 others injured in separate road accidents, firing incidents, and clashes in Nasirabad, Tamboo, Chhatter, Dera Allah Yar, Notal, and Dera Bugti areas, police said.
They said a youth injured in a road accident near Dera Murad Jamali succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a hospital.
In another incident near Rojhan Jamali in the Dera Allah Yar area, a woman injured in a road accident died while under treatment at a private hospital in Sukkur.
In the Shahenshah area within the limits of Chhatter police station, a speeding pickup overturned, killing a woman on the spot and injuring another woman and four others.
In Dera Bugti’s Jani Beeri area, within Sui police jurisdiction, three people were injured in an armed clash between two groups.
In another incident in Tamboo (within Khan Kot police station limits), a youth identified as Muhammad Panah was seriously injured in firing by unidentified assailants who fled the scene.
Separately, in Manjho Shori police limits, two persons identified as Hidayat Ullah Manjho and Sabir Ali Manjho were injured in two separate firing incidents and shifted to hospital.
In Dera Murad Jamali city, Shah Nawaz was injured during a fight in the Langho Mohalla Industries area.
In the Notal area along the National Highway, a road accident left a mother and son — Elahi Bakhsh Bohar and Ms Laila, wife of Pir Bakhsh Bohar — injured.
Three gunned down
Meanwhile, three people were gunned down by unidentified armed men in two separate firing incidents in Mastung town on Thursday.
Police said the first incident occurred in front of Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Memorial Hospital on the Quetta — Karachi National Highway, where unknown assailants opened indiscriminate fire at a vehicle.
As a result, two people inside the vehicle were killed after sustaining multiple bullet injuries. The deceased were identified as Muhammad Naeem Badini and Muhammad Aamir Badini.
In another incident, unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on a young man in the Teri area of Mastung Road while he was passing through the area.
Police said the victim was killed on the spot after receiving multiple bullet injuries.
