OKARA: A man allegedly shot his two sisters dead and critically injured the third at their house in the city’s Shahmand Colony and escaped on Thursday.

As per the first information report (FIR), the complainant, Liaqat Ali Chohan, said he was on his way to his workplace when his wife Jamila informed him on his mobile phone that their son, Adeel Liaqat, had shot at his three sisters in an upper-storey room of their house.

Before the complainant returned home, the locals had called police and Rescue 1122 teams.

As per Rescue 1122 and police, two of the sisters, Bushra Liaqat (25) and Fiza Liaqat (20), were found dead on the spot, while the third, Esha Liaqat, was critically injured in the firing by their brother.

The bodies and the injured girl were shifted to the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital. The critically injured girl was later referred to the Sahiwal DHQ hospital.

The city A division police say that the FIR, registered on the complaint of Liaquat Ali under sections 302 and 324 of the PPC, mentions no immediate motive for the firing incident.

On being informed of the incident, District Police Officer (DPO) Dr Assad Ijaz Malhi reached spot, from where Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) teams collected evidence.

As per the police, the DPO has formed a special team headed by headquarters DSP Taqi Abbas Shah to nab the fleeing suspect.

GIRL DIES: A minor girl died after being hit by a motorcycle in Okara.

As per Rescue 1122, Kiran (7), daughter of Imran, was crossing the Jinnah stadium Road in the district complex when she was hit by a speeding motorcycle. She died on the spot.

A Rescue 1122 arriving at the scene shifted the body to the DHQ hospital.
