Woman shot dead for ‘honour’ in Gujar Khan

GUJAR KHAN: A woman was shot dead by her brother for honour in Mandra area on Saturday morning.

Police have registered a case under section 302 ppc over the complaint of the victim’s father.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police SDPO Syed Danial Hassan Kazmi, father of the victim, a resident of Dhoke Maqadam, reported to police that his daughter had gone missing from her husband’s house on March 9, and she could be retrieved through the court on March 11. She was living at her father’s house after she developed differences with her husband.

He further reported that on Saturday morning, he was at his house with his wife and daughters when one of his sons arrived and allegedly became infuriated after questioning his sister about her disappearance from her husband’s house.

According to the victim’s father, his son allegedly pulled out a 30-bore pistol and shot twice at his sister, who succumbed to bullet injuries.

According to the father, the suspect escaped after killing his sister. The police have registered an FIR under section 302 PPC and started investigations after shifting the body to THQ Hospital, Gujar Khan, for post-mortem.
