Gulf News has reported that 10 people have been arrested in the UAE for publishing misleading video clips on social media platforms.

“Certain events were exploited to spread misinformation aimed at misleading the public and undermining national security, order and stability,” Gulf News said, citing authorities.

The suspects also circulated fabricated videos generated using AI to falsely depict explosions, strikes on prominent landmarks and large fires across different areas of the UAE, it added.
