Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq al-Said has congratulated Mojtaba Khamenei on his selection as Iran’s new supreme leader, Reuters reports according to Oman’s state news agency.

Oman has been calling for a de-escalation and dialogue to end a regional crisis triggered by a US-Israeli war on Iran.
