Several explosions were heard in the Bahraini capital Manama, an AFP correspondent said, with authorities sounding sirens as Iran pressed its retaliation campaign in the Gulf, AFP reports.

“The siren has been sounded. Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place,” the interior ministry said in a statement on X.
