PEACE THROUGH MUSIC

PEACE THROUGH MUSIC: I want to highlight a positive effort by a group of young people in Parachinar who recently created a song promoting peace, love and harmony in their region. Instead of spreading hatred, these young people chose music as a way to spread the message of unity and hope. Such initi-atives show the true potential of our youth. When young people work for peace, they not only serve their area, but also strengthen the country. Sadly, efforts like these often go unnoticed. The government should support these and such other individuals through encouragement and proper platforms. Supporting positive voices is one of the strongest ways to promote long-term peace and stability.

DRINKING WATER: The Amrio village has no access to safe drinking water. Groundwater is saline and quite dangerous for human consumption. Old village wells, once a major source of fresh water for the residents, have become non-functional. A single saline water well with a motor exists at some distance, but it is not enough to meet the needs of the local population. The government-installed RO plants are located at least a couple of kilometres away. These facilities are often non-functional or inaccessible as well. Every day, women walk long distances carrying water containers, and children miss school to help collect the precious commodity. Despite repeated complaints to all local and provincial authorities, no effective solution has been provided yet. The wait continues.

INDUSTRIAL POLLUTION: Activities in Sukkur’s industrial area have been polluting the air, while water contamination has been rendering the land in-fertile and causing rather serious health problems. The air quality has become worse due to the hazardous smoke released by the factories. People frequently report respiratory issues, but no action has been taken by those concerned even after multiple complaints have been filed.
