LAHORE: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) on Tuesday announced to supply gas to consumers in Lahore and other parts of the province from 3am to 10:30pm daily during the month of Ramazan.

According to a spokesman, the consumers, in case of low gas pressure, may lodge complaint at the helpline at 1199.

SNGPL Managing Director Amir Tufail said the gas supply would not be for cooking hours alone, as the company will make efforts to ensure supply all the time from 3am to 10.30pm.

RATION CARDS: Commissioner Marryam Khan says Ramazan ration cards are being distributed among 329,962 beneficiaries in all four districts of Lahore Division while 59,872 beneficiaries have received the cards so far.

“There is Rs10,000 in the Ramazan card for each beneficiary and no deduction of any kind is being made in this regard,” she said while presiding over a meeting.

She said 24 camps had also been established for distribution of cards. On the occasion, the DCs of all four districts gave a briefing on the arrangements for Ramazan.

They said 7,472 inspections were conducted in 24 hours for price control, out of which 383 were related to overcharging. The fines amounting to Rs176,000 were imposed for illegal profiteering while six FIRs were also registered.

Ten people were also arrested. The commissioner said 31 Ramazan Sahulat bazaars had been established in Lahore Division.
