QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced a comprehensive development package for the newly established Koh-i-Suleman Division on Thursday, pledging to end centuries of neglect in the region through the provision of basic facilities and infrastructure.
Addressing a large public gathering in Rakhni, which has been declared the divisional headquarters, CM Bugti said the government is fully committed to taking responsibility for the area’s development. He emphasised that the creation of the division will not remain symbolic.
“The mountains of Koh-i-Suleman are not just a geographical landmark as they represent the history, honour and homeland of brave tribes,” he said.
He called the division’s creation a major step toward ensuring good governance and ending backwardness.
Expressing satisfaction over Rakhni’s elevation from a union council to a divisional headquarters, the chief minister outlined several key initiatives. These include the establishment of a 50-bed hospital, the completion of a residential college and the completion of the Naharkot Dam.

CM Bugti also announced the immediate commencement of work on a Rakhni Model Bazaar, the establishment of a Rakhni Press Club and the launch of a housing scheme. He granted Rakhni the status of a municipal committee, which will be renamed Municipal Committee Dera Khetran.
The purpose of establishing a divisional headquarters is to accelerate development and improve service delivery, the chief minister said.
“The districts of this division are bound together like brothers, and just as Koh-i-Suleman stands tall, so do the people of this region,” CM Bugti said.
The chief minister strongly criticised attempts to push Baloch youth into what he termed a “futile conflict”, warning of conspiracies aimed at alienating them from the state. He urged the youth to focus on character, education and hard work rather than slogans.
“Baloch and Pakistan are inseparable, and our survival and prosperity lie together,” CM Bugti said.
He assured the public that the government would fulfil every commitment, stressing that resentment against the state is unacceptable despite governance challenges.
The rally was attended by large numbers from the Khetran, Bugti, Zarkoon, Buzdar, Gharshin and Leghari tribes. Political leaders in attendance included MPAs Zark Khan Mandokhail and Haji Ali Madad Jattak, PPP leader Mir Baz Muhammad Khetran, former minister Naseebullah Marri, National Party leader Abdul Karim Khetran, District Chairman Dera Bugti Wadera Ghulam Nabi Shambani, District Chairman Kohlu Mir Nisar Ahmed Marri and Sami Khan Zarkoon.
