Man gets life term for wife’s murder
OKARA: Renala Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Shabraiz Akhtar Raja on Tuesday sentenced a man to rigorous imprisonment (RI) for life along with a fine of Rs0.5 million for the murder of his wife.
Convict Ghulam Ali of village 3/1 RA murdered his wife Sadaf Bibi at their house over some family dispute in the Saddar Renala Police area in May of 2025.
The court, on the completion of the trial proceedings, convicted Ghulam Ali and ordered him to pay Rs0.5 million as compensation to the deceased’s legal heirs.
The court also declared that in case of default, the convict would further serve six months of simple imprisonment.
ARRESTED: A man had been arrested for allegedly axing his wife to death over suspicion on Monday night in the Chuchak Police precinct.
According to the FIR, Shakila, a mother of four, was married to Gulzar Baloch of village L-Plot Lasharian some six years back.
The couple had a strained relationship as the husband suspected his wife had illicit relations with a village man named Rizwan Lashari.
It claimed that on Monday night, the suspect murdered his wife by inflicting repeated axe blows on various parts of her body.
On the complaint of Shakila’s father Muhammad Yaqoob, the Chuchak Police registered a case against Gulzar and Rizwan Lashari and arrested the suspect.
