HYDERABAD/DADU: A sedition and rioting case was registered against Syed Zain Shah, the Vice President of the Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP), and 60 others, on Sunday in the wake of the events held in Sann a day earlier to celebrate 122nd birth anniversary of veteran Sindhi nationalist leader G.M. Syed.
The others named in the case included Sindh United Party (SUP) Secretary General Roshan Buriro, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz-Bashir chief Sannan Qureshi, Jeay Sindh Mahaz-R founder Riaz Ali Chandio, JSQM-Shaheed Bashir leader Dr Niaz Kalani and proactive activists Sarang Joyo, Taj Joyo, Inam Abbasi, Saima Muzaffar Bhutto, Aslam Khashkheli, Sikandar Sudro, Saeed Tunio, Hamid Bhutto, Majid Sindhi, Lala Aslam Pathan and Ayesha Sargani.
The FIR was lodged by ASI Badruddin Kalhoro at the Chhachhar police station of Sann on behalf of the state.
The complainant claimed that the [45 nominated and 15 unknown] suspects raised slogans against the sovereignty and integrity of Pakistan in Sann on Saturday. He also claimed that they damaged vehicles and blocked roads while resorting to rioting.
The suspects were booked under Sections 123-A, 124-A, 153-A, 341, 147, 148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Section 6/7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).
