Citizens robbed of valuables by gang

SAHIWAL: Several people were robbed by an alleged gang of robbers in a car who snatched Rs7.42 million in cash, a motorcycle, and four mobile phones at different locations.

As per details, the robbers stopped several vehicles on the Lahore-Multan Road and looted their valuables at different locations. They allegedly looted Rs195,000 and watches from businessmen Nawid Ali, Sajid Ali, Kashif Razaq, Ali Hassan, and Wajid Ali Sheikh near Chak 55.

They also looted a mobile phone and Rs90,000 from businessman Faisal Rafaqat near Chak 182-L. They then looted Rs115,000 and a mobile phone from hotel employee Ali Raza Rahmani near Chak 101-L. The robbers also looted Rs163,000 and goats from businessman Rahmat Ali near Chak 18-B. While photographer Muhammad Rizwan was deprived of a motorcycle and Rs215,000 near Chak 37-12L.

The police registered five cases and started investigations. However, the suspects have not been arrested yet.

PFA: A Punjab Food Authority (PFA) team raided a factory in Nau Bahar 99/L in Sahiwal tehsil for allegedly extracting oil from animal waste and fat, and arrested brothers Muhammad Amir and Ahmad Ali.

According to details, the PFA team, led by Safety Officer Muhammad Ahmad, received a tip-off about the factory’s operations.

The team found that the factory was extracting oil from animal waste, including skins and veins, and supplying it to the local market, posing a risk to public health. This oil was being supplied to shop owners who used it for frying different food items.

During the raid, 160 liters of adulterated oil were confiscated, and animal waste was disposed of by the team. A case was registered against the brothers and they were taken into custody. PFA said investigations were ongoing.
