Track inspection focuses on overall safety
TAXILA: The Pakistan Railways on Saturday intensified safety oversight on the Taxila-Havelian stretch as senior officials inspected tracks, signalling systems and passenger facilities to ensure smooth train operations.
The team of Pakistan Railways, led by the Divisional Superintendent (DS) Rawalpindi, Nooruddin Dawar, in a bid to ensure passenger safety and improve service standards, Taxila–Havelian section.
During the visit, the team thoroughly examined railway tracks, bridges, level crossings, gangs and several stations to assess infrastructure conditions and ensure smooth, safe and timely train operations.
Special attention was given to cleanliness, signalling systems and overall safety arrangements. Addressing officers and field staff on the spot, Nooruddin Dawar said that passenger safety remains the foremost priority of Pakistan Railways. “Such inspections are a proactive measure to identify and address potential risks before they affect train operations,” he remarked.
He added that special steps are being taken to strengthen track safety, improve signalling systems and enhance protection at level crossings, particularly on busy routes. Highlighting the role of railway employees, the DS said, “Field staff play a critical role in ensuring safe railway operations, and their vigilance and professionalism directly contribute to passenger confidence.”
He directed concerned officials to ensure the timely maintenance of tracks and bridges and to provide better facilities to passengers at stations.
In recognition of dedication and outstanding performance, the divisional superintendent awarded cash prizes and commendation certificates to deserving staff members, boosting morale and encouraging a culture of excellence.
