Drug addict murders wife, daughter, two in-laws
LAHORE: A man allegedly murdered his wife, a teenage daughter, his father-in-law and his wife’s nephew in Hayer police jurisdiction late on Tuesday.
Initial police inquiries suggested that the suspect, Imran, allegedly killed his wife Fouzia, their daughter Zainab (14), wife’s nephew Raza (15) and her father Mirza Ali (55) following demotic disputes and fled the scene.
A police official says Imran, a drug addict and peddler, used to torture his wife over petty family issues.
He says two years back the suspect had also injured Fouzia seriously over a domestic issue, after which she lodged a case against him with the police. However, elders of both families intervened and the matter was apparently resolved.
The police official says that apparently Imran nurtured a grudge against his wife and his in-laws and tortured Fouzia many times after that.
A few days back, he says, Fouzia went to her parents’ house, along with her children, after her husband again tortured her inhumanly.
The official says that on Tuesday night, the suspect went to his in-laws’ house, where he exchanged harsh words with his father-in-law, Mirza Ali.
He says that the suspect took out a dagger and repeatedly stabbed Ali, leaving him dead on the spot. He then went into a room where he murdered his wife, their daughter and wife’s nephew.
On being informed of the incident, the police rushed to the spot, along with forensic experts, and isolated the crime scene. The police shifted the bodies to the city morgue for autopsy after completing initial investigations.
A case was lodged against the suspect on the complaint of his brother-in-law, Nadeem.
In another incident, a man allegedly shot his brother-in-law dead over a family issue in the jurisdiction of the Factory Area police on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Shahzad.
The police shifted his body to the city morgue for autopsy after completing legal formalities.
A police official says that the suspect, Hamza, was jobless for the last many months and his wife was living with her parents.
On Wednesday, he says, Hamza went to his in-laws’ residence to take his wife back, where he had a heated argument with Shahzad.
During the argument, both scuffled, and Hamza opened fire, injuring Shahzad critically.
The police official says that Shahzad was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.
The police registered a murder case against the fleeing suspect and shifted the victim’s body to the city morgue for autopsy.
