OKARA: An agriculturist was allegedly shot dead over an old enmity in front of main branch of Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) in Lalazar Colony.

According to the first information report (FIR), the victim, Habibullah, had just left the bank with his nephew and was walking toward his car when a vehicle appeared and the occupants opened fire. Habib suffered severe bullet injuries and was rushed to the City DHQ hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The assailants, who were in a car, reportedly resorted to aerial firing and fled. On the complaint of the victim’s nephew, Asadullah, City A Division police have registered a case against six suspects Ahmad Hussain, Ali Hamza, Farman, Adnan, Nazir and Ihsaanullah. They are residents of 45/GD and have been charged under sections 302, 109, 427, 148, and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

The enmity has claimed three lives from each side so far.
