LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) administration claims to have recovered over Rs623.8 million from 13,393 defaulters during July 1 to Aug 15, 2025.

This includes Rs468.05 million from 9,351 running defaulters and Rs155.78 million from 4,042 disconnected defaulters.

According to Lesco CEO Muhammad Ramzan Butt, recovery across various circles included Rs78.09 million from 754 defaulters in the northern circle, Rs128.44 million from 2,411 defaulters in central circle, over Rs96.4 million from 1,346 defaulters in eastern circle, Rs48.28 million from 1,080 defaulters in Okara circle, over Rs27.5 million from 686 defaulters in southern circle, over Rs7 million from 233 defaulters in Sheikhupura circle, Rs223.94 million from 6,179 defaulters in Kasur circle and over Rs14.1 million from 702 defaulters in the Nankana circle.

“The recovery of outstanding dues is crucial for Lesco’s financial stability and improved service delivery,” he said while presiding over a meeting here on Tuesday.

He further emphasised that timely payment of dues was a national duty to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, and strict action against defaulters would continue under the zero tolerance policy of Lesco.

LDP: Various teams of the district administration inspected various parts of the city to review the ongoing and completed infrastructure projects under the Lahore Development Programme (LDP).

In Nishtar tehsil DC Syed Musa Raza accompanied by additional deputy commissioner general, MCL chief officer, assistant commissioner Nishtar, and senior administrative officials inspected development schemes in union council 232. They received detailed briefings from the assistant commissioner and Nespak officials regarding project implementation and technical specifications.

The DC issued immediate directives to remove encroachments during construction phases, mandating prompt demolition of unauthorised structures, platforms, and sheds in streets and lanes to enhance neighbourhood aesthetics and accessibility. He instructed Nespak to maintain stringent construction quality standards across all project sites, ensuring long-term sustainability and citizen satisfaction.

The administration also accelerated work on projects under the LDP with the Lahore DC reaffirming that no compromise would be made regarding transparency and quality standards in developmental initiatives.

“Through systematic monitoring and quality assurance protocols, the district administration continues demonstrating its commitment to delivering high-standard infrastructure development that meets citizens’ needs whilst maintaining construction excellence and urban planning integrity across Lahore’s expanding development landscape,” the DC said.
