DERA GHAZI KHAN: Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmad Chaudhry reviewed the preparations for the 10th Thal Jeep Rally 2025 at Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu and Layyah.

The meeting was attended by deputy commissioners of Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu and Dera Ghazi Khan and representatives from the TDCP, police, rescue, highway and local government departments.

The commissioner stated that the Thal Jeep Rally was a regional hallmark and an opportunity to promote tourism in the area.

He directed the departments concerned to adopt a coordinated strategy to ensure the provision of security, sanitation, traffic management, accommodation, medical care and water supply facilities so that participants and tourists could enjoy a comfortable and organised experience.

He added that the Thal Jeep Rally was not merely a sporting event but also a platform to highlight the region’s culture, traditions, and hospitality.

Meanwhile, 12 development schemes under the sugarcane cess, primarily focusing on the construction and repair of roads in Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh and Layya were approved by the divisional sugarcane cess committee.

A meeting of the committee was held under the chairmanship of the Dera Ghazi Khan commissioner which approved the schemes.

The session reviewed welfare initiatives for sugarcane growers and development plans in the area. The officers concerned attended the meeting.

cess funds to benefit sugarcane growers and accelerate rural development.
