PESHAWAR: The first meeting of the provincial committee of Qaumi Amn Jirga, a representative group of political parties, will be held today, Monday, at 2:00pm at Bacha Khan Markaz Peshawar.

According to a statement issued from the ANP secretariat here on Sunday, the meeting will be chaired by Mian Iftikhar Hussain, president of Awami National Party Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who is also head of the committee.

All provincial presidents of political parties have formally been invited to ensure their attendance at the important provincial committee meeting.

The meeting will discuss in detail the committee’s responsibilities, including the engagement with the government and establishment on key issues; determining the next line of action after the 10-day deadline for establishment of a judicial commission, and planning potential protest sit-ins and future actions for acceptance of their demands.

“The meeting aims to outline a clear course of action in line with the Qaumi Amn Jirga’s objectives and decisions to make efforts for a better future of our people.”

Meanwhile, Mian Iftikhar Hussain expressed gratitude to all participants for the success of the Qaumi Amn Jirga.

He stated that the valuable suggestions presented during the jirga demonstrated unity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s people in their demand for peace, constitutional rights, and protection of democracy.

He emphasised that national issues could only be resolved through unity, solidarity, and people’s power.

The ANP president assured that the jirga’s recommendations would be implemented at all costs to ensure justice for the people of the province and provide a peaceful future for the generations to come.
