Democratic US Senator Chris Van Hollen has hit out at Trump, a Republican, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for replacing humanitarian aid groups in Gaza “with mercenaries … leading to more death and devastation”, Al Jazeera reports.

“Every day, the horrors in Gaza reach new, unimaginable depths,” Van Hollen wrote in a social media post. “This cannot continue.”
