The International Committee to Break the Siege of Gaza, a Palestinian campaign group, has reported that 16 Israeli military drones were spotted near the Handala ship over a 45-minute period overnight, according to Al Jazeera.

The Handala is the latest vessel of the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC) that is attempting to break Israel’s blockade and carry humanitarian aid to Gaza. It departed from Italy on July 13 with medics and activists.

As of 9am in Gaza (11am PKT), the Handala’s live location showed that the ship is off the coast of Egypt in international waters and approaching the spot in which a previous FFC vessel, the Madleen, was intercepted by the Israeli military and its activists arrested on June 9.
