Pakistan to play three Tests in England next year

LAHORE: Pakistan will tour England for a three-match Test series in August-September next year as part of the World Test Championship 2025-27, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Thursday.

The first Test will be held at Headingley, Leeds from Aug 19-23 while the action will move to the Lord’s for the second Test starting from Aug 27. The two teams lock horns in the third and final Test from Sept 9-13 at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

This will be Pakistan’s fourth Test tour of England since 2016 and overall 29th bilateral Test series between both the teams since they first faced each other in 1954.

Currently, the Pakistan Shaheens are touring England for a three-match 50-over and two-match three-dayers series.

Other than the Pakistan series, England will also host New Zealand in a Test series next year, while India and Sri Lanka will visit for white-ball tours.

According to the ECB, England will play three Tests against New Zealand in June starting at Lord’s.India and Sri Lanka, who are jointly hosting the T20 World Cup early next year, will play one-day and T20 Internationals in England.
