Four policemen held over criminal’s viral video clip
SUKKUR: Four police officials, including an SHO, were placed under arrest in the wake of a viral video clip, showing a wanted criminal standing by the side of a police mobile van, twirling his moustaches and making a victory sign.
Police officials said that Jacobabad SSP Mohammad Kaleem Malik took serious notice of the TikTok video clip with the outlaw, Salah Jakhrani alias Salah, who was wanted in the martyrdom of six police officials of Balochistan and other heinous crimes, standing by the mobile van of Baqa Mohammad police station.
The SSP ordered SHO Muhammad Khan Brohi, head moharrar Zubair Jakhrani, driver Sherdil Banglani and constable Asghar Ali be locked up at the City police station and a case be registered against them, said the officials.
Subsequently, a case on behalf of state over a complaint of ASI Wazir Jamali had been lodged against the police officials under Sections 216A, 221, 222, 34 PPC. Later, they were produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate and Civil Judge of Jacobabad, Sajjad Ahmed Khoso, who remanded them in 14-day judicial custody, they said.
The SSP asserted that no police officer would be pardoned for such criminal negligence and expressed confidence that police would soon achieve success in eliminating criminal elements through its targeted operations.
