Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has called for an end to the starvation crisis in Gaza at the United Nations Security Council.

Presiding at the Quarterly Open Debate on “The Situation in the Middle East and the Question of Palestine” at the UNSC, Dar said: “The hunger crisis in Gaza is unprecedented and has reached alarming levels.

“Failure to uphold the rights of the Palestinian people will encourage impunity … the UN must ensure the implementation of its resolutions on Gaza.”

He said that the UN World Food Programme has said that one in three people are going hungry in Gaza for days.
