SAHIWAL: Senior Civil Judge Masood Ahmed Faridi on Tuesday granted a post-arrest bail to Musa Maneka, son of former first lady Bushra Bibi, after the accused and the complainant in the attempted murder case reached a “compromise through the respectable persons of the locality”.

The victim, Ali Bahadur, a domestic servant of Musa, and his father, recorded statements, sayingthey don’t have any objection if the accused was granted a post-arrest bail by the court.

The request was made to the court two days back.

Musa Maneka was arrested in connection with an attempted murder case (FIR No 1151/25) registered under section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) by Pakpattan Saddar police on July 17, 2025, after he shot at and injured Ali.

Earlier, the court had sent the accused on a 14-day judicial remand, with a direction to present him again on July 31.

On Tuesday, Musa, through his council Mian Inam Wattoo and the complainant’s council Chaudhry Sajjad Hyder, in the presence of Ali Bahadur, said a compromise had been reached between their clients. So, the accused was granted first post-arrest bail by the court.

The court ordered the accused to submit Rs100,000 surety bonds.

As per the FIR, Musa had shot a domestic servant Ali (18) in the leg at the residence of his father Khawar Maneka at Pir Ghani village of Pakpattan tehsil, allegedly for changing the bed sheets of his room without his permission.

Musa was arrested by DPO Javed Chadhar, who also recovered a pistol from his custody.

Later, Ali’s father Manzoor Ali told the media they reached a compromise with the accused after his own free will.
