PDWP okays school meal plan among others
LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) on Monday deliberated and approved the Chief Minister School Meal Programme having an estimated cost of Rs6.93 billion for the current financial year.
The working party in its ninth meeting for the financial year 2025-26 chaired by Planning and Development Board, Punjab, Chairman Dr Naeem Rauf and attended by P&D Board Secretary Rafaqat Ali, chief economist Masood Anwar, Local Government Secretary Shakeel Ahmad Mian, Transport Department Secretary Imran Sikandar, board members and other senior officers approved seven development schemes having accumulated estimated cost of Rs29.25bn.
The working party approved the Comprehensive Infrastructure Improvement & Rehabilitation of Underground Electric and Telecom Systems inside the Walled City of Lahore with an estimated cost of Rs6.924bn.
The Comprehensive Infrastructure Improvement & Rehabilitation of Building Facades along the Historical Trail inside the Walled City of Lahore was also approved with an estimated cost of Rs3.095bn.
The PDWP approved Conservation & Restoration of Historic Buildings, Havelis, and Tourism Enhancement inside the Walled City at an estimated cost of Rs5.106bn. It approved Comprehensive Infrastructure Improvement, Rehabilitation & Upgradation of Sewerage, Drainage, Water Supply Systems, and Street Surfacing inside the Walled City having an estimated cost of Rs5.653b, and a scheme of establishment of CERT and Data Center with an estimated cost of Rs1.334bn.
The working party also approved the feasibility study for the Mass Transit System in Sargodha (PC-II) with an estimated cost of Rs209 million.
