Ben-Gvir demands Netanyahu ‘come to his senses’, end ‘negotiations with terrorists’
Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has called on Prime Minister Netanyahu to “come to his senses” and abandon ceasefire negotiations with Hamas, according to Al Jazeera.
Addressing Netanyahu in a statement on Friday, Ben-Gvir said it is not too late to “stop the negotiations with the terrorists”.
“Give the necessary instructions to achieve the goals of the war: complete occupation, voluntary migration, and [Israeli] settlement [of Gaza],” he said.
Ben-Gvir criticised the possible withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Morag Corridor — a 12km strip separating the cities of Rafah and Khan Younis in southern Gaza — reportedly discussed in ongoing truce talks.
“The Morag Corridor is a strategic axis conquered with the blood of our soldiers, and withdrawing from it would be spitting in their faces,” he said.
