Rebuffed youths kill waitress, wound her colleague
TOBA TEK SINGH: Two youths shot dead a waitress of a restaurant and injured another on the Duggaranwan Road in the D-Type Colony police area of Faisalabad on Sunday.
Complainant Abdul Majeed, in his first information report, said his daughter, Asma Farida, and her colleague, Maryam Bibi, worked at the Khayyam Restaurant on the Samundri Road. Two boys, Muhammad Ahmed and Fahad Kaleem, tried to force the girls to have a relationship with them but they rejected their advances. At night, when Asma and Maryam were returning home after duty at the restaurant, both the suspects appeared on a motorcycle and opened fire on them. In the shooting, Asma received three bullets while Maryam was hit by two. They were shifted to Allied Hospital where Asma succumbed to her injuries.
City Police Officer Sahibzada Bilal Umar claimed, in a statement, that both the suspects had been arrested.
Sources said the suspects teased the victim girls on the road but they snubbed them and raised an alarm. At this, the suspects attacked with firearms and wounded them.
