Gaza health ministry says hospitals in urgent need of fuel
A statement by Gaza’s health ministry says patients in the enclave’s hospitals “continue to be placed on the brink of death every day” due to a lack of fuel in the enclave, Al Jazeera reports.
It said that the problem forced hospitals to ration fuel, which leads to cutting off electricity at some departments and postponing or halting some services, including kidney dialysis services.
“It also reduces the ability to operate a sufficient number of ambulances, forcing citizens to transport the injured and sick in animal-drawn carts,” the statement added.
