TOBA TEK SINGH: Son of the late Murtaza Bhutto, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Junior, has said that majority of political parties are enemies of labourers, peasants and their right to education.

Addressing a gathering of industrial workers held under the banner of “Save industries campaign” arranged jointly by Labour Qaumi Movement (LQM) and Haqooq-e-Khalaq Party (HKP) at Adda Sadhar industrial area on Jhang Road in Faisalabad on Wednesday night, the grandson of former PM Zulfikar Ali Bhutto said these parties were formed only to support capitalists.

“There is nothing for the poor people in their manifestos and I ask the PPP where the support of people for their party has gone.”

He said a grandiose shrine had been built on the grave of the ZAB in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh, as if he was a king but they should know that Bhutto was a poor-friendly leader who talked about the rights of the workers and he wanted to give equality to the poor.

He said it is a pity that after Bhutto, his manifesto could not be implemented by his so-called successors.

LQM Chairman Baba Latif Ansari said hundreds of small and large industrial units had been shut down in Faisalabad and in other cities of the country and scores of other units were on the verge of closure rendering millions of workers jobless due to the ‘wrong’ economic policies of the government.

He said the Punjab government should refrain from enacting the Labour Court Amendment Bill as it will be termed a black law against the rights of the workers. He warned that in case of non-acceptance of their demand, workers would be forced to take to the streets.
