Palestinians resort to eating grass as hunger deepens in Gaza
Bassam Zaqout, director of the Medical Relief Society in Gaza, has spoken to Al Jazeera about the ongoing hunger crisis in the besieged enclave.
“We are experiencing a severe shortage of food, and the lack of baby milk is a major problem,” he said. “Everyone in Gaza is suffering from hunger. This situation must end.”
He added that some people have to “eat grass and leaves” due to food shortages.
“All Palestinians endure daily hunger. This situation is not sustainable,” he emphasised.
