Fake judge arrested in Burewala

BAHAWALPUR: Model Town Police of Burewala arrested a man for impersonating a judge on Friday.

According to the police spokesperson, a man, identified as Usman Agha, impersonating an additional district and sessions judge of Islamabad, entered the office of Burewala sub-divisional police officer and attempted to intimidate the staff.

The SDPO staff checked his identity and found that he was an impersonator.

The Model Town police arrested him along with his gunman.

MURDER: Gailiwal police in Lodhran district resolved the mystery of the murder of a shopkeeper and arrested his alleged killer.

According to police, Khadim had murdered Ramzan when he was sleeping outside his shop on Thursday night.

Gailiwal police, on the complaint of Ramzan’s brother Abdul Rehman, registered an FIR against unidentified killer(s). The police said the investigating officer with the help of geofencing and CCTV cameras reached Khadim and arrested him.

Khadim confessed to committing the murder, saying he wanted to steal some material from the shop.

ACCIDENT: Two girls were killed while four suffered serious injuries when a tractor-trolley hit two motorcyclists on Bahawalpur-Multan highway at Adamwahan near Lodhran.

According to Rescue 1122, the tractor-trolley hit the motorcycles after its axle broke away. Fatima (18) and six-month-old Khadija died on the spot while four pillion riders -- Zafar Iqbal (40), Shoaib (30), three-year-old Bilal and five-year-old Jaweria -- suffered injuries and were shifted to Lodhran DHQ Hospital.

ARRESTED: A Crime Control Department (CCD) team arrested a dacoity suspect in injured condition after an encounter on Bahawalpur’s northern bypass near Salhan village.

According to CCD officials, Kabir Shah along with his two accomplices was fleeing after a dacoity when they were challenged by a police team. In a shootout, Kabir was injured in firing by his accomplices who managed to escape.

The CCD team arrested Kabir and recovered arms and a motorcycle from him and shifted him to hospital.

Police claimed Kabir was involved in as many as 14 criminal cases.
