UADA working on integrated master plan for urban areas
PESHAWAR: The Urban Areas Development Authority (UADA) has said that it is working on an integrated master plan to develop urban areas, aligned with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa urban policy 2022–30 and the targets of SDG 11.
A statement issued here said that the UADA officials briefed the KP Local Government Minister Arshad Ayub Khan about the strategic planning of the authority. Managing Director of UADA, Mukhtiar Ahmad, along with other relevant officials, also attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the MD gave a detailed briefing on the challenges faced by the authority, its goals, and future projects. The authority highlighted seven strategic priorities during the session, including urban development, financial sustainability, community engagement, implementation of sustainability principles, and the use of modern technology.
Minister Arshad Ayub Khan appreciated the efforts of the authority and emphasised that engineers, financial experts, and technical staff were urgently required to accelerate and enhance urban development process. He further stated that digitization in UADA was essential to bring transparency and efficiency in service delivery.
In conclusion, the minister directed the authority to ensure prompt implementation of all strategic priorities, giving top priority to welfare and development of citizens.
