The chief of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees has said international UNRWA staff have been “effectively expelled from the occupied Palestinian territory” but the agency’s work continues.

“International UNRWA staff have been effectively expelled from the occupied Palestinian territory,” Lazzarini said in a post on X.

“Our activities however continue.”

He also highlighted the courage of UNRWA Palestinian staff for continuing to deliver essential services “despite arrests, intimidation and harassment”.
