From The Past Pages Of Dawn: 1975: Fifty Years Ago: New Senate oath

ISLAMABAD: The President has issued an order amending the Senate (Members from Federal Capital) Order, 1975 which provides for a new oath for the Muslim candidates incorporating the definition of a Muslim which debars the Qadiani community from the fold of Islam. The amending order provides the following addition to the oath. … “I believe in the absolute and unqualified finality of the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him) the last of the prophets and that I do not recognise as a prophet or religious reformer any person who claims to be a prophet after Muhammad (peace be upon him).” This affirmation is necessary in case of a person who declares himself to be a Muslim or his religion to be Islam — to be struck off in case of non-Muslims. — News agencies
