Israel claims head of IRGC’s alleged overseas arm killed in Iran strike
Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz has claimed that the military had killed a veteran commander in an alleged overseas arm of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) in a strike in an apartment in Iran’s Qom, Reuters reports.
The veteran commander was named as Saeed Izadi, with Katz saying he led the Palestine Corps of the Quds Force.
There was no confirmation from the IRGC.
Katz alleged Izadi financed and armed Hamas during the initial attacks, describing the commander’s killing as a “major achievement for Israeli intelligence and the Air Force”.
