LAHORE: Punjab Home Secretary Dr Ahmad Javed Qazi has instructed all the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to coordinate in the Katcha area and overpower the criminals through intelligence sharing.

Chairing a meeting at the home department office on Thursday to review security in the Katcha area and security forces plan to deal with the security situation, Dr Qazi stressed that Punjab and Sindh should also coordinate effectively for successful operations in Katcha areas.

He also stressed the need for ensuring strict security measures in the Katcha area and adjacent districts ahead of Muharram.

He said the Punjab government was providing all required resources to take action against terrorists and criminals.

He said two joint check posts were being established for security in the Katcha area, besides the provision of modern drones, quadcopters and armored vehicles.
