Train derails at Hyderabad station
HYDERABAD: A bogie of Rawalpindi-bound Pakistan Express derailed at the Hyderabad Railway Station the other day, causing suspension of railway traffic on the upcountry track.
The bogie was detached from the rest of the train and passengers of the derailed carriage were shifted to other coaches of the same train. According to the chief controller’s office, it took around 75 minutes to normalise the operation and allow Pakistan Express to proceed for Rawalpindi.
The affected bogie would be brought to Karachi railway yard for fitness and inspection. Some mechanical fault caused derailment at the station’s platform No.3, according to Mohammad Siddique Khuharo, station superintendent of Hyderabad Railway Station.
The affected bogie was stationed at the same platform and that track would not be used for upcountry traffic.
