Director of the Gaza Health Ministry Munir al-Bursh has given more details about the ongoing fuel shortage in Gaza in an interview with Al Jazeera.

He warns that within 48 hours, Gaza’s hospitals will turn into “graveyards” due to fuel shortages.

“The occupation forces’ (Israel) prevention of fuel entry is tantamount to cutting off the lifeline to hospitals,” he said. There is a severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies.“

Noting that World Health Organisation trucks are parked in Egypt, near the Rafah border crossing, Al-Bursh called for their immediate entry.

“We implemented emergency plans, but are now helpless due to running out of fuel and a shortage of medicines. When will international and Islamic organisations move to break the siege imposed on us?”
