Some 350,000 Palestinians in Gaza are suffering from various chronic diseases, an official from the Palestinian Medical Relief Society has told Al Jazeera.

The announcement comes as the World Health Organisation (WHO) warned earlier that the enclave’s “health system is collapsing”.

UN experts and medical officials in Gaza, as well as medical charities, have long accused Israeli forces of deliberately targeting health workers and medical facilities, in what has been described as a deliberate attempt to make conditions unlivable for the Palestinian population in the Strip.
