LAHORE: Police arrested on Saturday a man for killing his daughter for honour in Raiwind.

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly stabbed to death by her father Umer Abbas near Abdullah Chowk for asking to contract marriage with the person of her choice.

The father attacked the girl with a sharp-edged knife. The girl suffered critical injuries and was taken to Jinnah Hospital, where she could not survive.

Police shifted the body to the morgue for an autopsy and registered the case against Abbas on behalf of the state.
