JI urges swift action to save starving children in Gaza

KARACHI: Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) chief Hafiz Naeemur Rahman has urged the government and the Muslim world to take immediate and collective action against Israel to protect children in Gaza from starvation.

The JI leader expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Idara Noor-i-Haq, the Karachi headquarters of the party, here on Saturday.

He highlighted the worst kind of man-made devastation in Gaza and said that the US President Donald Trump is hands in gloves with the Israeli premier when it comes to the Gaza genocide where children are being compelled to death by starvation and that too in this modern age.

He added that the situation in Gaza is very grim and those who have any hopes from Mr Trump need to know that he is a “fraud.”

Hafiz Naeem said that even Europeans were protesting against Israel and according to a survey, 50pc of the population in the United Kingdom opposed the actions of the Zionist regime. He urged the Arab nations to mend their ways and stand by the right side of their history. Otherwise, he warned them of backlash by their own people.

He said that the JI had already been playing its role in this regard be it funding or protests. He urged all political parties to raise their voice for Gaza.

Meanwhile, he said the significance of the Pakistani military has increased many folds following the recent clash with India, adding that the Zionist state is doing the same in Gaza what India is doing in Kashmir. He urged the Pakistani military to act for Gaza as it would be helpful for the cause of Kashmir too.

He said that medics in Karachi would take out a march on May 31 under the banner of the JI for Gaza and another major march will be taken out on June 1 in Hyderabad.

He also urged the nation to continue boycott of Israeli products.
