LAHORE: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Wednesday issued a weather advisory, warning of intense windstorms, thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms across most of Punjab from May 7 to 11.
According to details, rain with strong winds is predicted in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiat, Attock, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Jhelum, and Gujranwala. There are chances of storm and rain in Lahore, Kasur, Sialkot, Narowal, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha and Mianwali.
Rain, thunderstorm and hailstorm are predicted in south Punjab, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar between May 8 and 10.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia said an alert has been issued to the district administrations, police, civil defence, school education, health, irrigation, construction and communication, local government and livestock and information departments, besides Wasa, in view of the expected weather situation in the province.
He urged the people to stay in safe places to protect themselves from lightning and should avoid going out during thunderstorm.
