Football ground handed over to school
LAHORE: A football ground with seating for 200 was handed over to Government Elementary School of Heer in Sialkot on Friday.
A non-governmental organisation constructed the ground by using recycled materials over four months in collaboration with the District Education Authority (DEA) of Sialkot.
The facility utilises approximately 50pc recycled material, including eco-building blocks and plastic chairs.
At the inauguration ceremony, the NGO highlighted the society’s 30-year commitment to improving access to basic education and its focus on climate change adaptation through sports infrastructure built with recycled plastic.
DEA CEO Mujahid Hussain Alvi praised the initiative and pledged to ensure the facility’s security.
MPA Tariq Subhani lauded the project as a revolutionary step for the area.
A formal handover agreement was signed followed by the ground’s inauguration. Certificates of appreciation were presented to School Management Committee members, staff, and local dignitaries for their cooperation during the construction.
