OKARA: A man killed his wife in village 6/4L on Tuesday over suspicions of her alleged affair, according to police.

Suspect Shakil allegedly slit the throat of his wife Ammara, 27, at their home. The couple had been married for 10 years.

Renala Saddar police registered a murder case against Shakil on the complaint of Ammara’s sister Rabia Bibi.

JAILED: Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Ashfaq handed down nine-year rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs100,000 to Nazim in a drug trafficking case.

The convict was arrested in March 2024 by Saddar police with 1.7kg of charas.

In case of default on the fine, Nazim will face an additional three months of imprisonment.

ACCIDENTS: Two motorcyclists were killed in road accidents on Tuesday.

Manzoor, 60, a resident of Khalilabad Colony, Dipalpur, died after his motorcycle collided head-on with another bike near Paracha Basti on Dipalpur-Okara Road.

In the second incident, motorcyclist Imam Din of Basirpur fell on the road while overtaking a rickshaw near Pukhta Dolla village on Haveli-Dipalpur Road and was crushed under the wheels of a tractor-trolley following behind. —
