SWAT: Justice Mohammad Ijaz Khan of Peshawar High Court, Mingora Bench (Darul Qaza Swat), said here on Monday that bar and bench were interdependent and essential for delivery of justice to people.

He was addressing the oath-taking ceremony of Swat District Bar Association wherein he was invited as chief guest. Other judges were also present on the occasion.

Justice Mohammad Ijaz Khan administered oath to newly-elected president Advocate Mohammad Mushtaq Khan, general secretary Advocate Ayub Khan and other office-bearers of the bar association.

Addressing the ceremony, Mohammad Mushtaq Khan highlighted the challenges faced by the bar.

Justice Mohammad Ijaz Khan stated that all available resources and capabilities were being utilised to ensure swift disposal of cases. He urged lawyers to play their role in expediting legal proceedings.

“People have high expectations from judiciary regarding provision of justice,” he said and said that the issues of bar would be addressed thoroughly and resolved effectively.
